Hello everyone.
Bon and I will begin our triumphant return to the east coast on the morning of friday april 30th.
We'll probably take a week to ten days. We'll be getting in touch with some kids in calgary, some family in western ontario, some friends/family in ottawa, some family in montreal, and that's probably it.
Should be good.
exes and ohs.
Not too many glasses, i didn't think. Perhaps i had a bug.
Perhaps if one is sick because of a bug, they remember being sick. This memory is not at my disposal.
I must have drank some serious wine. It came up. There was a lot of burgundy going on. It rightfully fell into the toilet.
I woke up feeling dreadful, finding an empty but available bucket beside my bed, realizing that i didn't go out the night before, as planned, and periodically noting the time i had at my disposal, before rolling out of bed ten minutes before my 9 o'clock class.
I made it on time, and probably learned something. The class was ear training II.
Today is april 7th.
In the next ten days, i have some bigtime material due. I can't imagine a run down of assignments being interesting to read OR write. Forgive me.
There's a Bach piano piece for basic keys final. We're going to a church to play it on a big organ.
I'm writing a jazz tune for harmony class. Using techniques we learned in class. We need chord changes, a melody, and a bassline. Then we record it in the midi lab and that's that.
I'm recording compass for midi class. I'll do a few takes of guitar, bass, and vocals. Put together my favorites and put some midi drums into place. Protools.
I've got four tunes that i've got to super know for my bass proficiency. I've got to be able to play them in two and do a walk. Two octave scales for regular modes and one octave scale melodic minor modes.
The word scale just lost meaning for me. I'm convincing myself it's the right word to use.
I think that's all for the next ten. Making it a full two weeks and i've got an arranging project. I need a full concert score for an R&B tune with a rhythm section, a horn section and backup vocals. I'm doing Respect - Aretha Franklin.
I love you guys. I'm gonna go.
Pei in a month and a week, probably.
I think it's the showcases. Graduating performance and composition majors have to present a show to graduate. It's something they've been rehearsing and planning since october. And when a student's showcase is finished, it's quite a load off. It's time to celebrate.
So, call it the right place and right time or whatever, i've had a dozen late nights in the past three weeks. I've been having a really good time.
The days are a little sore, and i think my immune system is getting a little worn out. My nights have been super.
End of the semester. I've got some major efforts to put forth. I'm sure it's the same intensity as schedules of other students in other fields. I've got a bach organ piece i've got to learn, a song (compass) that i've got to record, and work with, in computer land. I've got to write out a full score for aretha franklin's respect. I've got to learn to Do-Re-Mi sight read a bunch of tunes out of my ear training book. I've got to learn to play a charlie parker bop head for bass lab. Learn to walk a handful of tunes for lesson. And write and record a simple jazz tune, 16 bars with a melody and bass line.
Poco a poco.

Did anyone get the license plate number of that truck? The one that ran me over yesterday evening. I've got dreams of revenge. Sleep with one eye open, box of wine.
